First it was two f-16s now it is only one that was in the attack, the other was refueling at the time. This says to me that the planes were not on stand by for a high priority target, why is that? The admin says that they were following this guy for two weeks to get Zarqawi, so when he finally shows up, they have only ONE plane to take him out, that make no sense. Also, if Zarqawi was such a high priority target, why didnt we try and capture him? The house seemed to be in an isolated area, perfect for a special forces snatch and grab, so why didn't we try? I think he would be better alive to give us info, then dead with only a body to show for propaganda (in a gold frame no less). At the saame time they raided 17 other hideouts for Al-qeda in Iraq, so they were prepared for this long before taking him out. Something is really starting to stink about this and it is just not the admins problem with telling the truth at any time. What is your take on this Carl, or am I letting my inner skeptic out too much.
And Targa chimed in at the greatest blog in the universe:
Hmmm... Why DIDN'T they try to capture him? A guy like that in custody would help shorten this desert hike. I think.
One idea springs to mind: GWB likes to kill people. He likes to kill 'em DEAD, and then crows about it.
I just read a report that Zarqawi was still alive when troops rolled up on him. He tried to escape by trying to roll off the stretcher. WHAT?
In reading these posts and comments, now I'M beginning to be more skeptical and cynical of the "official" story.
Everywhere I look, I see a grassy knoll.
So why couldn't he be captured, especially in light of the fact he was taken alive?
